Hi there!  I’m Shannon, a registered dietitian with an interest in digestive health. Welcome to For Peas Sake, a blog where I share recipes and tips for feeling your best with gastroparesis.

My interest in nutrition began when I was diagnosed with gastroparesis in 2011. As I dealt with daily stomach issues, I knew I had to make some changes in my life. I decided to go back to school and pursue a degree in nutrition so I could learn how to properly fuel my body. Through trial and error over the past few years, my health has improved significantly with a combination of diet and lifestyle changes. I do experience symptom flare ups every now and then, but I have a better understanding of what causes them (most of the time) and how to deal with them. Now, as a registered dietitian, I hope to use what I have learned to help others do the same!

I currently live in Salt Lake City, UT with my husband, Brad.  In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, running, and hiking.
